Grandma, Grandpa & Uncle Tim came for a quick visit over the weekend. The weather cooled down considerably (from the high 70's this week to mid-40's by Sunday...brrr!), but we were still able to get outside and enjoy the crisp fall weather.
On Saturday we went to Huber's Orchard and Winery, a very large vineyard and apple orchard just across the river in Indiana. Max had tons of fun throwing rocks in the many ponds there. We visited both the orchard and winery. We saw goats, a miniature horse, played on slides, fed ducks, and had a picnic lunch at the winery. It was a very nice time. We came home in time for Max's nap, and then later went out to dinner at Claudia Sanders Dinner House, a restaurant at the site of the former home and headquarters of Colonel and Claudia Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. The food was great - southern cooking served family style with the original recipe chicken, of course. I was surprised that Dave and I never ventured there before, but we have now found that it is a must-try for anyone visiting the Louisville area.
Here are some pics from the weekend:
